We are aware that our beautiful things have to be transported thousands of kilometers to reach us. And it goes without saying that this cannot be done without significant emissions.
But we don't see any alternative, we don't want to do without them. And we think our beautiful things are indispensable.
This dilemma leads us to constantly think about what we can do to mitigate the consequences.
For example, we do not use elaborate packaging, we take the material in which the products are delivered to us and “spice it up” (by hand) and then pass it on to you, our dear customers.
We also try to avoid plastic packaging and encourage our suppliers to keep this packaging material to a minimum.
We reuse shipping boxes as long as we believe they are sturdy enough. So please don't be surprised if you receive a package with signs of wear.
We take every opportunity where we are offered CO2 compensation, be it from transport companies, printing companies, etc.
We prefer to order from (fair trade) companies that want to operate sustainably and keep an eye on their resource and energy consumption.
We too are aware of our responsibility in this area and welcome any suggestions that will help us move forward – even if only a little bit.
